Welcome to the Beaver River Watershed Alliance (BRWA)
What are we and what do we do?
The Beaver River Watershed Alliance is one of ten Watershed Planning Advisory Councils (WPAC) in Alberta. WPACs are mandated by the Government of Alberta to carry out planning and education functions through the Water for Life Strategy (2003) whose goals are as follows:
- Healthy aquatic ecosystems
- Safe, secure drinking water supply
- Reliable, quality water supplies for a sustainable economy
The Beaver River Watershed Alliance is a group of committed individuals representing a broad range of sectors that work together, through consensus, to ultimately develop and implement an Integrated Watershed Management Plan (IWMP) for the Beaver River basin.
Please browse through the site to learn more about us and all the exciting initiatives we have going on. And don’t forget to check out our membership (free!) and volunteer opportunities as well as upcoming events and workshops.
