Welcome to the Beaver River Watershed Alliance (BRWA)
What are we and what do we do?
The Beaver River Watershed Alliance is one of eleven Watershed Planning and Advisory Councils (WPACs) in Alberta. WPACs are mandated by the Government of Alberta to carry out planning and education functions through the Water for Life Strategy (2003) whose goals are as follows:
- Healthy aquatic ecosystems
- Safe, secure drinking water supply
- Reliable, quality water supplies for a sustainable economy
Please browse through the site to learn more about us and all the exciting initiatives we have going on. And don’t forget to check out our membership (free!) and volunteer opportunities as well as upcoming events and workshops.
Member of the Month
The BRWA would like to introduce our new Member of the Month, Maria Priestley. Visit our Steering Committee Members page to learn more about Maria and her experiance with the BRWA. Check back each month for a new member of the month.
Upcoming Events
The BRWA is once again hosting our annual Calendar Contest for 2014! If you are student in K-12, you can enter the contest with the chance of having your drawing published in our next calendar. This year's theme is: "What's your favourite area in the Beaver River watershed?" To enter, fill out the official entry form, and submit your drawing either by mail, email, or in person.
